Cookie
Gone to her Forever Home in WA
Cookie is our tiniest girl, and very feminine and pretty. She reminds us of a little elf. She's a lovely slightly lighter shade of brown with correct brown pigment. We suspect she may end up being cafe au lait (which means coffee with cream) like our first standard poodle, Grace. It's a beautiful color.
Cookie's Puppy Aptitude Results are now available: Cookie was very receptive to the strange tester. She followed the tester without hesitation and at times cuddled up to her! She had no interest in retrieving whatsoever and instead climbed into the testers lap! She accepted being restrained or elevated with little complaint. She did not show sensitivity to touch. When a loud sound was heard, she listened and located the sound, but rather than going to investigate it, she returned to the tester for comfort. She was not concerned about a large umbrella being opened. She did go to investigate that. She looked at a towel being pulled by a string, but did not want to chase it. She also had no interest in a turkey feather. She was interested in string cheese, and located it when hidden under a cup, but didn't put much effort into getting it.
Cookie is a low/medium energy girl who likes to be with people. She would do fine with a family that is only moderately active. She will want a home where she can be with her people and not left alone frequently. She is expected to do well with children and other pets.
Cookie had only her mother's milk in early life with no need for supplements. She's gaining weight nicely each day and is now eating solid food and still getting some mother's milk too.
We began Early Neurological stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) on Day 3. You can see a photo in the gallery of Cookie sniffing chamomile. She showed the most interest in mint as compared to the other pups. Other scents she has particularly enjoyed are apple, pansy and clover.
Both ENS and ESI are believed to enhance brain development and general health in puppies and we are working hard to do all that we can do to give them the perfect start in life.
Stay tuned for many more photos and the results of Cookie's upcoming Conformation testing.
